IN THE CLASSROOM
We foster an inviting and dynamic classroom environment for our students to learn and grow within. Our students are divided into three classes for different age groups, each lead by one of three experienced teachers, who, alongside our two occupational therapists, focus on implementing the Son Rise Method, balancing social growth, life skills, as well as an academic foundation, with the long-term end goal of integrating our students into traditional schools down the road.
ACADEMICS
Amidst being admitted the Fairmile School, an individualized education plan (IEP) is created for each student. This plan allows our teachers to set specific goals for each student educational skills, as well as content in different skills for each term. Areas of focus include science, writing, reading, mathematics, religion, and social sciences. The Fairmile staff as a whole seeks meaningful development in skills such as holding a writing utensil, reading aloud, addition and subtraction, and so on.
ARTS AND MUSIC
Everyday we dedicate ample time for our students to color, draw, and express themselves artistically, as well as sing and dance. These avenues of self-expression are joyful ways to interact with one another, express themselves, and practice motor skills like movement and clapping. Uplifting our students with art, song, and dance therapy are a few ways our students express themselves, build their coordination, and strengthen their muscle movements in a fun environment.
